The all new Van Staal VF Series Fly Reels were engineered to be the lightest and strongest fly reels on the market. Based on the same premise as their spinning reels, they are fully machined from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum and have a fully sealed/waterproof drag.

Van Staal engineered the strength into each reel using a unique pentagon shape design. Also, reducing its weight by taking away metal through a unique porting process. Its sealed drag has two radial bearings top and bottom with an additional anti-reverse bearing resulting in a drag that is incredibly smooth and powerful.
