I have been asked over the years why I don't make carbon fiber shaft gaffs. Well, the answer is that they don't hold up in the elements of the sun and salt. I have custom built plenty of them in the past while informing the custom that they are not made for big, strong, thrashing fish.

The problem is the shaft will dry out from the sun and salt if not tucked away from the elements and cleaned with fresh water. 

I have developed a shaft that has a cushion type membrane in between the fibers giving the shaft a little more flex, strength and shock absorbing than the normal shafts. This in turn will increase the breaking point strength as well as being more able to take a hit or banged up against the gunnel.  

Various lengths, hook size and design are available in this series and they will all come with my own developed custom "Soft Stick Grips".
